There are two main ways that students can advocate for changes in their Rice community: speaking to their college senators or starting a petition.
Your college senators are elected to bring important issues to the center of discussion at Senate. Please reach out to them over a meal, email, or any other avenue to let them know if there is something that you feel should be addressed. Senators meet with each other, SA executives, Dean Hutchinson, and Associate Dean/Provost Taylor regularly. They can work with you to survey the student body, interface with administrators/staff/faculty, and pass legislation that directly relates to issues brought up by students.
In addition to contacting your college senators, we also encourage you to create grassroots support for certain changes to be made through creating a petition.
