At once enchanting and perplexing, this evening of deliciously absurd comedy is created around five of David Ives’ short plays. All In The Timing presents a world where chimps attempt to write Shakespeare, faux-pas can be edited from conversations and Trotsky can live out multiple versions of his last day. Expect the unexpected! All in the Timing runs April 8 -12th at 8:00 pm, Sunday April 13 at 2:00 pm. Performances are at Hamman Hall. Admission is $5. Tickets are available in advance by calling 713-348-PLAY or visiting http://arts@rice.edu. Plays include adult language and themes. The five plays are performed by 9 Rice student actors, several playing multiple roles and the shows are directed by Jonathan Gonzalez and Samuel Sparks, two sharp young directors coming from opposite coasts. Winner of the John Gassner Playwriting Award. This critically-acclaimed, award-winning evening of comedies combines wit, intellect, satire and just plain fun. "Like sketches for some hilarious, celestially conceived revue. The writing is not only very funny, it has density of thought and precision of poetry … ALL IN THE TIMING is by a master of fun. David Ives spins hilarity out of words." —NY Times.
