The Director of Technology is involved with technological requirements at Senate meetings, electronic aspects of Student Association elections, and maintenance of the Student Association website. They work closely with other SA officers and educate them on how to effectively utilize SA website and blogs. This position also includes exploring new ways to connect the SA to the community, especially through social media.
The Parliamentarian uses their knowledge of the Student Association Constitution to provide direction and guidance to all levels of the SA. With a completely new and revamped Constitution it will be more important than ever that they work closely with Student Association members when writing legislation and ensuring its validity.
The Director of Marketing plays a major role in the initiative to rebrand the SA and introduce its new, revamped image to the Rice community. She is involved in generating a new logo, creating dynamic ways to advertise meetings and new legislation, coordinating outreaches through social media, and assisting SA members in effectively delivering important information to the student body.
The Director of Government Relations shall
track government initiatives at the local, state, and national level, and bring relevant
initiatives to the attention of the External Vice President and President for consideration. The
Director of Government Relations shall advise and brief the Senate on relevant topics as
deemed appropriate by the External Vice President and President.
The Deputy Parliamentarian will be responsible for
assisting the Parliamentarian in all aspects of their position, while gaining a thorough
understanding of the constitution and Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised. This position
may not be held by a senior and priority will be given to applicants that are interested in
becoming Parliamentarian in the future.
