My name is James Cheng and I am a junior at Jones College, majoring in Biosciences and minoring in Neuroscience. I am committed to upholding the honor code here at Rice, and I believe that it is critical to create a campus culture that is based on trust, integrity, and respect. As your Senior Representative, I will work to ensure students are heard and that the Honor Council makes fair decisions for all. I understand the challenges students and professors face today with regards to academic integrity, and I am eager to bring my unique perspective and ideas to the table. If elected, I will work closely with the Honor Council, other student leaders, and professors to make amendments and develop initiatives that promote honesty and raise awareness for ongoing issues such as AI and increased cheating. To conclude, I believe that I have the passion, dedication, and experience needed to be an effective representative for the Honor Council, and hope that you will vote for me so I can continue to work towards a brighter future for our campus community.
