Rice Rally Club exists for one reason: to enhance the awareness, support, and integration of Rice Athletics both as a cultural presence and a source of entertaining student activities into the culture and experience for all Rice students. We seek to 1) establish athletic traditions and cultural foundations that will serve as building blocks for future generations of both Rally Club members and Rice students as a whole, 2) maximize the experiential value of attending athletic events at Rice, 3) facilitate conversations between the general student body and student-athletes to further promote university-wide inclusion and support for all subgroups of students. Our goals for the upcoming year are not only to continue the incredible growth support and interest for Rice Athletics, but also to introduce traditions, events, and other initiatives that provide transparency and exposure of Rally Club to the general student body outside the scope of an athletic event (and therefore, an increase in the cultural value of athletics to the university as a whole).
