Jackson Darr (Treasurer)

Hello Owls!

My name is Jackson Darr. I'm excited to run for Student Association Treasurer, a role that will allow me to use my skills and passion for financial management to benefit our entire Rice community. As Treasurer, I will work diligently to ensure that the Blanket Tax is allocated fairly and transparently, empowering student organizations to thrive. I will prioritize efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility in financial reporting so everyone knows how their money is being used.

With experience in student government, budgeting, and nonprofit leadership, I have successfully overseen large-scale financial operations, including raising nearly $100,000 for my 501(c)(3) organization. From managing a high school booster club’s digital payment system to leading multiple student projects, I have consistently implemented innovative financial solutions to improve processes and transparency.

However, I believe that being a treasurer is about more than numbers. I want to be a visible, approachable member of the Rice community, someone who listens, collaborates, and works to support every student. Whether it’s through office hours, attending meetings, or being available on campus, I’m committed to making communication around finances simple and straightforward.

Ultimately, I hope to build a stronger, more unified campus by ensuring our financial decisions reflect the diverse needs of all Owls. Thank you for your support—together, let’s make a difference!
