Candidate Statement

Alina Zhong (Secretary)

My name is Alina Zhong, and I am a sophomore at Wiess studying Economics, English, and Business. I’m running for Secretary because I have a vision for a more accessible, engaging, and transparent Student Association (SA). While previous administrations have made significant strides in bridging the gap between SA and undergraduates, there is still a clear lack of engagement within the student body. I believe my skills, experiences, and passion make me the

ideal candidate to address these challenges and help SA better serve you.

Here’s what I bring to the table:

  • Efficiency and Precision: With a typing speed of 138 words per minute and 100% accuracy, I can ensure that SA meetings, records, and communications are handled quickly and effectively.

  • Social Media Expertise: I’ve managed social media pages for both nonprofits and meme accounts, giving me the unique ability to create content that is both professional and engaging. I’ll use this experience to make SA’s communications more dynamic and relatable, ensuring students actually care about what’s happening.

  • A Commitment to Accessibility: I’ll work to make SA more accessible to all students by streamlining communication, improving transparency, and ensuring that everyone feels informed and included in the decision-making process.

My goal is simple: to make SA a platform that students genuinely care about and feel connected to. I’ll work tirelessly to ensure that your voices are heard, your concerns are addressed, and your ideas are brought to life.
